Levocetirizine hydrochloride is the L-R-enantiomer of cetirizine hydrochloride. It is a new generation of high-efficiency non-sedating antihistamines. It is the active ingredient of cetirizine and has high selectivity for H1 receptors. (K1=3.2nmol/L) is twice that of cetirizine (K1=6.3nmol/L), which can competitively antagonize H1 receptors. It has no obvious anti-cholinergic and anti-serotonin effects, and has less central inhibitory effect. It can effectively inhibit the accumulation of eosinophils and inhibit allergen-induced eosinophil migration and chemotaxis. It is highly efficient and highly selective. Peripheral H1 receptor antagonists, in vitro and in vivo experiments show that it has a good antihistamine effect, and at the same time, it can inhibit the release of allergy-related inflammatory mediators and play an anti-inflammatory effect.
